Review: Nuage Vapour Shower Tablets

A Frugal Find in Home Bargains

I love a good Home Bargains haul, and a recent trip didn’t disappoint—I stumbled upon some real gems. At the time, I was feeling a bit congested after a lingering cold and spotted the Nuage Vapour Shower Tablets. These are similar in concept to a bath bomb, but designed for use in the shower. Shower steamers contain essential oils that slowly release their aroma as they dissolve in the steam and moisture of your shower.

Honestly, I didn’t have high hopes—I’ve tried a few ‘relaxing’ shower steamers in the past and found them underwhelming. They dissolved too quickly and offered just a subtle hint of fragrance rather than the full-on spa experience I was hoping for. But the Nuage tablets, infused with menthol, camphor, and eucalyptus oil, sounded perfect for my stuffy head—and at £1.49 for a pack of three (in 2025), they seemed worth a try.

Eucalyptus is a favourite of mine. I just love the smell—I even had it in my wedding bouquet! Whenever I felt anxious, I’d squash a leaf and take a deep breath. I’m not sure what people thought of me foraging in my bouquet, but needs must..

Eucalyptus leaves artistically arranged on a marble background creating a serene natural pattern.

Whats in the Shower Tablets?

Back to the product: you get 3 x 30g tablets in a box. The ingredients are simple—salt, sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, menthol, camphor, and eucalyptus. I placed one tablet in the corner of the shower and waited. At first, nothing happened. I nudged it a little closer to the water spray and, after a few minutes, the aroma began to fill the space. The scent grew stronger and was surprisingly effective—just what I needed. The combination of steam and vapour really helped soothe my blocked nose and sinuses.

Another bonus: it didn’t dissolve too quickly. After 10 minutes, the tablet was still going strong, which meant I wasn’t just watching my money disappear immediately down the drain.

A Definite Repurchase

I’ll definitely be looking out for more of these on my next Home Bargains trip—I’d love to stock up. I’ve also spotted more products in the Nuage vapour range online, including a vapour rub, candle, oil, and vapour bath salts, patchs and even wax melts! I’d be tempted to try all of them, except maybe the bath salts and rub. Sadly, I don’t think my sensitive skin would tolerate being soaked in menthol and camphor, and as for vapour rubs—I’ve yet to find one that rivals Vicks, which I remain fiercely loyal to!
